THE BRANCHES OF THE LONG ISLAND RAILROAD

.          In order to obtain a basic understanding of the entire system of the Long Island Railroad, one must begin with a review of the multiple branches.  At the present time, there are twelve operational branches within the overall system.  We have also included information related to three discontinued branches.

.          We begin with an investigation of the ‘LETTER DESIGNATIONS’ for each branch.

.          Once you have selected the branch you wish to investigate, simply click on the letter designation and you will arrive at the branch.  Each branch will then have all of the stations listed in sequential order – west to east.
